Yellow Cedar driftwood
on Juniper with Iron Spike

Escaping from log-jambs in storms, small badly checked scraps of prized Alaskan yellow cedar occasionally wash up on the shores of Puget Sound.  A large spike had been pounded through this particular piece of drift wood, and the entire story of the logged tree and our exploitation of natural resources seemed to explode out of it.  Orca is the essence the native North West and, like many other natives, has been experiencing a marked decline in its population.  “Legacy”, embodies the environmental devastation that future generations will inherit from us, if we fail to drastically change course.
